The FDA Center for Tobacco Products said it will host on March 19-20 a public workshop titled "Third Party Governance of Industry-Sponsored Tobacco Product Research," the purpose of which is to discuss the Institute of Medicine's recommendation that sponsors of Modified Risk Tobacco Product (MRTP) applications use independent third parties to undertake one or more key functions in tobacco product research.
