The United States and 11 other Pacific Rim nations will meet at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit scheduled for October 7-8 in Bali, Indonesia, and try to reach an agreement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, even as President Barack Obama canceled his plans to attend the meeting because of the ongoing political impasse and government shutdown in the US.
